Ideally situated as a midway point along the Garden Route spend a few days relaxing on the beach in the middle of your busy sightseeing holiday or use as a base from which to explore the delights and attractions of the Garden Route all within easy reach. Enjoy the bustle of nearby Knysna but return to the peace and relaxing beauty of Brenton - the hidden pearl of Knysna. Home to the famous (and endangered) Brenton Blue butterfly, the village nestles between the Indian Ocean and the hills of Knysna's Western Head. Its beaches are perfect for walking, sunbathing and fishing. Footpaths along the cliff tops offer ideal vantage points for spotting dolphins and whales (seasonal). Paragliding is a popular pastime in the area and there is a jetty at Brenton-on-Lake for boat and canoe launches.  There are some excellent restaurants in both Brenton and Belvidere (one of the oldest suburbs of Knysna). Pembreys is a must for lovers of fine food - their menu is constantly changing! Brenton is well known for its amazing sunsets. Why not pack a picnic basket and head on down to the beach or one of the vantage spots and just take in the splendor of an African sunset! |
